Some times there just isn’t any option but to install your TV aerial or satellite dish onto your flat roof.
This can be due to us fitting your reception equipment on to the roof of office or apartment blocks where wall mounting your aerial would be cost prohibited and limit future repairs and servicing.
It can also be a great way of hiding the TV receiving equipment as it allows us to move it to the center of the roof away from street view so is a great option for fitting TV equipment on to listed buil
dings or buildings of high architectural design.
The correct way of doing this is by using a “non penetratingting mount” these come in different sizes dependent on the wind loading of the dish / aerials being fitted. They consist of a galvanised metal frame with pole mount and spaces for paving slabs, it is the weight of the paving slabs that hold the mounting hardware to the roof without causing any damage to the roofing structure.
Technically fitting these mounts is not difficult and may be accomplished by a competent DIY television aerial installer, it is quite labour intensive though lifting all the hardware on to the roof, especially those paving slabs! so be safe up there.
There are also normally easy connecting places to connect your TV aerial to the properties lightening protection equipment.
We have installed many of these non penetrating mounts over the years to schools, flats and offices and they have never failed in any weather conditions, contact us for a free aerial installation quote any time.
The cost of the hardware depends on size but would be in the region of £75 – £150 and is available to trade though places such as alltrade
